2006 Fall Classic

Weatherman Comes Though

BEAUTIFUL WEATHER FOR THE SHOOTERS WHO ATTENDED

Chuck "The Weatherman" Farnham really was generous with the weather for this event. Light winds, mild temperatures, a few clouds to break up the azure sky, WOW! But, there may be some bad news: Chuck did not manage to snag his usual stack of awards (though he still won plenty!), so if the weather isn't as nice next time...

As a note towards the future, 3 new members of the NSSA were signed up at this shoot, including Arressa Rosenweig. Arressa was not able to shoot in this event as she was one of the Range Officers pulling our targets, but has already requested time off for the next registered shoot.  Also joining were Bill Anacker and Kenneth Stewart. Welcome to our humble group!

COMPLETE RESULTS:

12 Gauge 20 Gauge 28 Gauge

  HAA Summary

12 Gauge

The 12 Gauge event was a close event with a pair of 98's at the top. Steve Haynie took Gun Champ with long run over Runner Up Glen Rieske. (I was thoughtful enough to miss earlier than Glen, just so I'd have that long run...) Taking 3rd was Geoff  "Dark Side" Peters with a distant 93. Class winners were the aforementioned Chuck Farnham in A.  Steven " The Lunchman" Sagal took B1. Brand new NSSA member Bill Anacker took C1 in his first registered event (and shot his 1st 25 resulting in one really shot up hat), John Stweart and son Kenny (also a new NSSA member) took D1 and E1 respectively. I expect we'll see those names in the heros list quite often in the future!

20 Gauge

The 20 Gauge Event was a chance for Glen Rieske to even the 12 gauge score, and he did it quite nicely. Not chancing the long run strategy again, Glen simply posted another 98 to take Gun Champ while Steve Haynie could only manage a 97 and Runner Up! (But I did have the long run again...) Edging out "the Weatherman" was David Alexandrich for 3rd place with a 96. Chuck did manage to take another Class Champion (AA1) with his 96. Keeping his string of Class Championships going, Steven Sagal took A1 with a 95, while John Stewart posted a 92 for B1 and Myles Spodak took C1 with a 91. D1 was once again the property of new shooter Bill Anacker with an 82.

28 Gauge

95-94-93 was the sequence for the 28 Gauge. No long run tie breakers needed. Chuck "The Weatherman" Farnham took advantage of the conditions to capture the Gun Championship with a 95, followed by squadmate David Alexandrich's 94 for Runner Up, and Steve "Fourth Box Blues" Haynie managed to shoot down to a 93 for 3rd. Class Champs were Glen Rieske A1, Steven Sagal AGAIN for C1, and John Stewart for D1.

.410

Chuck Farnham posted a 95 in the little gun, and no one even came close to it. Following Farnham was Glen Rieske with a 90 and Steve Haynie struggled to an 89 for 3rd. Class Champs were Alexandrich in B, Sagal in C and Spodak in D.

Without the excuse of wind or weather, we're left to ponder the fickle gun without a real excuse...

HOA

Once again the little gun proved to be the tyrant. Going into the last event Steve Haynie held a lead over Glen Rieske and Chuck Farnham, but not by alot. Haynie managed to get 48 of the last 50, but it was not enough to salvage a score that started with a "9". His 89 made for a tie with the 410 Gun Champ Chuck "the Weatherman" Farnham for HOA at 377. The tiebreaker went to Haynie on Long Run (once again planning my misses at the right time...) for a rare HOA win for Haynie. Farnham was Runner Up and right behind them at 376 was Glen Rieske for 3rd. Class Champs were Sagal in B, and Alexandrich in C.

Doubles

One squad of 5 shooters were fielded for Doubles, and the Championship went to the Dark Side. Geoff "Darth Sith" Peters posted a 93 to best the 90 of Runner Up Haynie and the 88 of Bill Anacker in third.  Glen Rieske and Steve Sagal took class honors was well.

HAA

The HAA winner was also the HOA winner, but it wasn't as close. Steve Haynie too HAA Champon with a 467 out of 500, Glen Rieske was Runner Up and Steve "One More Title" Sagal was 3rd.
