2007 Worldwide Communications OpenOne Day Shoot Draws 27 Shooters, 6000 Targets ThrownIf there was a surprising shoot at Markham in the last couple of years, this would have to be it. Because of Easter Sunday , we shortened the event to a one day, two gun and doubles event. That didn't deter attendance, as 27 different shooters registered a total of 6000 targets. Lunch from Uncle Al's was sponsored by Worldwide Communications, and enjoyed by all. The Results 12 Gauge The 12 Gauge Event could have been themed "97's Are Cheap" as 4 97's were posted. A shoot-off was conducted which determined the finishing order: Chuck Fohlbrook (CH), Tom Pavlack (RU), Andrew Fall (3rd) and Chuck Farnham (AA1). Additional Class Champions were Mark O'Mara (A1), Jim Vahey (B1), Bill Johnston (C1), Melvin Brooks (D1) and Art Rohmberg, Jr. took E1. 20 Gauge The 20 Gauge Event was best described as the "almost perfect" with two 99's posted. Both Chuck Fohlbrook and Tom Keipert were "almost perfect", in fact missing at the same station. But only once. While Chuck captured his second Gun Championship of the day, we shouldn't overlook the fine job Tommy K turned in in this event while capturing the Runner Up Title. A 98 was good enough for 3rd for David Winkley. Class Champions included Chuck Farnham, Mark O'Mara, Jim Vahey, Bill Johnston, and Kevin O'Mara. HOA While there was no HOA officially, it should be noted that Chuck Fohlbrook would have captured this title as well by winning both of the individual events. Doubles In the largest Doubles event I can recall at a Markham event, 13 shooters were lead by Tom Pavlack's 94, Jimmie Miller took Runner Up with a 93, and Tom Keipert matched it for 3rd. Class Champs were Mark O'Mara, Steve Haynie, Bill Johnston and Joe Fordham. Many thanks to all those who attended and supported our shoot. Our next shoot is May 5-6, 2007 - come out and join us! Results as always are available on the web.
