NOT-A-BIG SHOOT
REALLY WAS!
21 Shooters and 5700 targets later, the turnout for the latest
Skeet shoot at Markham Skeet was once again above expectations. Usually our
"snowbirds" have flown the coop and these months we have small shoots. But
instead of the expected 4000 targets by 12-15 shooters we had a crowd. Go
Figure!
We continued the windy conditions - I don't think we've shoot
without it all year! The wind did have an overall effect of lowering scores, but
some fine individual efforts were posted.
RESULTS
12 Gauge
Chuck Fohlbrook, Chuck Farnham and David Lee all posted 96's
in the 12 Gauge to capture Champ, Runner-Up and Third (respectively) while
Stephen Hendren, Geoffrey Peters and Glen Rieske each posted 95 to win A, B and
C class crowns. John Stewart posted a 93 for D1 and Kathy Sands posted a 90 for
E class.
20 Gauge
You can't say that Ol' Farnham doesn't catch on quick- if a 96
won't win it, let's try a 97! Chuck posted a 97 to capture the 20 Gauge crown,
with Chuck Fohlbrook taking Runner-Up with a 96 (again!) and Michael Baranet
posted a 95 for Third. Glen Rieske posted another 95 for another Class
Championship, this time in B Class. Mel Brooks captured C class and Kathy Sands
took D class (AGAIN!). Good Shooting!
28 Gauge
You can't say that Ol' Fohlbrook doesn't catch on quick either
- if a 96 won't win it, let's try a 99! (OK, so he tossed in some security
targets...) Falling just short of ANOTHER 100 in the 28, Chuck posted a 99 to
take Gun Champ. Runner Up was that Farnham fellow, who reverted to a 96, and
third went to Steve Haynie with a 95. Classes went to Geoffrey Peters, Tony
Cicchirillo and Kathy Sands (AGAIN AGAIN!).
.410 Bore
Scores that began with a "9" were hard to come by in the
little gun. Only 2 were posted: a 94 by Gun Champ Stephen Hendren and a 90 for
Runner Up Glen Rieske. Third was an 89 posted by Chuck Fohlbrook. Class Champs
all posted scores that did not start with a nine: Chuck Farnham 85 (A), Steve
Haynie 89 (B) and John Stewart 89 (C) Just a wee bit breezy out
there for the idiot stick!
HOA
You can't say that Fohlbrook fellow don't learn quick...he put
together scores good enough to take HOA by a margin of 6 targets. Chasing were
Runner Up Glen Rieske and Chuck Farnham, both with 374's. Stephen Hendren,
Michael Baranet and John Stewart each captured their class titles.
The next shoot is the fabled, famous and loads of fun
"Hawaiian Shirt Open" where you're encouraged to wear your "loudest" tropical
patterned shirt (hence the name) and make a statement. You know, something like
"I found this shirt on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart!" Anyway, come on out and
join in the fun June 2 and 3rd!
