The Krieghoff Masters 2005The 2005 Krieghoff Masters was contested May 6-8,2005 at Savannah, Georgia's Forest City Gun Club. 487 shooters attended with CHUCK ISAAC posting the lone 400 X 400 and taking the HOA Championship. The Runner Up went to ROBERT P UKNALIS with a 398 and 3rd went to CRAIG KIRKMAN also with a 398. Complete results are available at http://www.mynssa.com . Many "local" shooters participated, including Art Kissel, "Chief" Gary Stoye, Mark O'Mara, Kevin O'Mara, Steve Sagal, Steven Haynie, Stan Gorgacz, Ray Santana, Rene Infante, Carlos Solis, Gerry Thompson, James Nangle, Rich Gabriel, Eddy Rojas, David Lee, Peter Warwar and Howard Sherman. (If I missed your name, let me know!) The top local story ended up being Art Kissels' blistering start, bagging 100 straights in the 12 and 20 (not a bad Saturday for anyone), but wait! He had to run a box of 3-4-5 doubles to get to the Stadium Field and added quite a few pairs there in caputring AA1 in the 12 gauge. Congratulations to Art for his outstanding showing at the Masters. HOA EVENT: Other well known names and local shooters : KEVIN MONTELEONE and TODD BENDER posted 395's; JON MICHAEL MC GRATH, II and JAMES NANGLE posted 393's; GERALD THOMPSON, TOM LAUSE (our State Regional Vice President) and local shooter ART KISSEL posted 391's; RENE INFANTE posted a 381 and CARLOS SOLIS posted a 378;STAN GORGACZ and GARY STOYE posted 375's; STEVEN HAYNIE posted a 370; HOWARD SHERMAN posted a 364; PETER WARWAR a 365; STEVEN SAGAL posted a 357. 12 GAUGE EVENT: Won by Todd Bender, Markham Shooter Art Kissel posted his 2nd ever 100 and lasted long enough in the shoot off to take AA1. Eddy Rojas posted a 99 and took B4, and Steven Haynie also posted a 99 and took C2 in a very short shoot off. (I am a better shopper than shooter - ask me about my new gun!); Howard Sherman posted a 98 and took C4. 20 GAUGE EVENT: Art Kissel continued to excel, posting his 3rd lifetime 100 capturing A5, Carlos Solis posted a 98 to take B7, Thompson, Nangle and Infante also posted 98's. Steve Sagal and Stan Gorgacz posted 95's. 28 GAUGE EVENT: Art Kissel finally missed a target on the 8th shot of this gun, ending a front side run of 207 and posted a 94 along with Gary Stoye, Eddy Rojas and Stan Gorgacz, Peter Warwar posted a 99 to take B2. 410 EVENT: Art Kissel resumed his excellent shooting and posted a 97 as did Gary Stoye (who captured an award B6), Stan Gorgacz posted a personal best 95. So much for the 2004 Masters, now, JUST WAIT 'TILL NEXT YEAR.
