The New Years Blast 2008RESULTS: Walker Walks Away with HOA TitleHorace "Zeke" Walker took the HOA title at this years edition of the New Years Blast with a score of 375. Runner up, also with a 375, was Mark O'Mara. Chuck Farnham was 3rd, three targets behind. The turnout was large - we threw 8,100 targets for the 30 shooters who attended. That was without a couple of no-show shooters who let small things like pneumonia and fever interfere with a shooting outing! Get well soon guys, they aren't leaving any targets for you! Class winners in the HOA were Steve Haynie in A, Andre Williams in B, Tony Pichardo in C and Richard Weissman in D. Phil Smith took E class in his return to registered shooting. Congratulations to all. 12 Gauge24 entries in the 12 gauge event and a single 99 was posted to take Gun Champ. Mark and Kevin O'Mara were on fire this month, posting excellent scores. Mark's 99 took gun champ and Kevin's 98 took runner up. Bill Hataway planned his misses well enough to take the Third Place honors from the other four 96's posted. The other 96's were posted by Steve Haynie (A1), Chuck Farnham (A2), Glen Rieske (B1), and Bill Ferguson (B2). C1 went to Ralph Long (welcome back!), D1 to Tony Pichardo, and E1 to Jerry Arroyo. Nice shooting guys! 20 Gauge99's were in style I suppose, because Andre Williams posted an event best 99 in the 20 gauge to take gun champ. What class is that guy in? Wow! Runner Up went to Mark O'Mara with a 98 and Third went to Zeke Walker with a 96. Class titles were as follows: A1 to Chuck Farnham, B1 to Glen Rieske, C1 to Tony Pichardo and D1 to Kevin O'Mara. Nice shooting everyone! 28 GaugeFinally some new blood makes it to the podium. New old blood? Oh well, new faces anyway. Bill Ferguson posted the only 97 to win the 28 gauge, followed by Runner Up Gary Stoye's 96, and 3rd Place Chuck Farnham's 96. Class titles were won by Bill Hataway (A1), Andre Williams (B1), John Stewart (C1) and Tony Pichardo (D1). 410 EventShooting the events in the new order really agreed with at least one shooter - Gun Champ Robert Vazquez, who posted a career best 93 in the little gun. Runner Up and Third went to Zeke Walker and Mark O'Mara, respectively. Class titles went to David Lee (A1), Kevin O'Mara (B1), Andre Williams (C1), and Art Rhomberg, Jr. took D1. Good shooting in perhaps the worst weather of the tournament! DoublesTen shooters shot the Doubles event, and Geoff Peters took the Event with a 46 of 50. Runner up was Kevin O'Mara (45) and third was Steve Haynie (44). Class winners were Mark O'Mara (B1), Zeke Walker (C1) and Art Rhomberg, Jr., D1. As usual, all results are posted on the website, including the individual shooters scores on the Summary. Our next event is March 1-2, 2008 where we will give out a Multi-"multi-tool" pack to each of the first 20 registered shooters who enters more than one regular event (other than Doubles). Registered means registered and paid! Pre-Squadding is not registered. If you are worried about missing out, get there earlier! See you then.
