The Opener 2004 - 2005

Skeet Season in South Florida is underway!

November 6-7, 2004

Markham Park, Sunrise, Florida

Last Season at the Masters :  Two happy Markham Skeet Shooters!

RESULTS OF THE OPENER 2004  - in PDF format:

12ga.     20ga.    28ga.     .410 bore     Doubles    HOA    HAA   100's     Summary

The new Skeet season began in South Florida, as usual, with Markham Skeet's "The Opener". Being first does have it's price, as a lot of time was spent bringing State Dues and new classifications up to date. It was a great shoot for Jim Vahey who managed to break his first 100 straight in a registered shoot. Shooting in the twenty gauge, Jim was "in the zone". His was the only 100 at the event, and was good enough to earn him Gun Champ in the 20.

Mark O'Mara won HOA honors, Chuck Farnham was Runner Up and Jim Vahey captured 3rd over all. Gun Champs were Mark O'Mara in 12, Jim Vahey in 20, Mark O'Mara in 28, Chuck Farnham in .410, and Mark O'Mara in Doubles. For all the scores, see "Summary" . For Honors, select the events listed at the left.

NEWS:

The month marks another change in the form at the web site. I am posting the scores in PDF format, which you can read with the Adobe Reader.  The reader is a standard web tool, is free and can be found using the link a the bottom of the "Shoot Info" page.

In other news, we will be altering the sequence of events beginning with our January 29-30, 2005 shoot.  In order to allow those who can shoot only one day each weekend a chance to register targets in all the gauges we are "inverting" events  with Trail Trap and Skeet. We will shoot 12 and 28 on Saturday (in that order) and 20 and .410 on Sunday (in that order). That way if you work every Saturday, shooting Sunday at Markham on the first weekend will register you 20 & .410, and about two weeks later,  Sunday at Trail Glades will register your 12 & 28. If this change is a minus for you, please let us know, as thus far we have only neutral and positive feedback.

The next shoot,  The S&H Systems Shoot, will not only have a gift for the first 50 registered shooters compliments of S&H Systems Services, Inc., but $1,000 added prize money.  The Markham Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays Club has voted to add $1,000 to the prize money for this shoot. We will allocate $750 to class awards and the balance to Gun and Overall awards.  A portion of registration fees will be returned to the shooters also.  Visit the web page http://www.markhamskeet.org/SHSys2004.htm for all the details.
