The Patriot 2007 Open29 competitors at a Markham Skeet Shoot is not "news" - but 29 at a Markham Skeet shoot in JULY IS! When the lightning started and ended the shoot early on Sunday, we had thrown 5300 targets. If we had not had both days shortened by lightning, we would have thrown 6700 targets - a tremendous number for this time of year! Thanks to all who attended and braved the elements in a "quest for clays." HOA The end results in the HOA event can be summed up as "inevitable". No shooter who was unable to shoot the 410 event had a realistic shot at changing the top two finishing places. Chuck Farnham came out on top with a 387 and Chuck Fohlbrook was Runner Up at 384. Of the remaining shooters who entered the 4 gun HOA event, only Steve Haynie had a chance to alter the finish of numbers 1 and 2. All he would have to do was post a 99 to tie Chuck Fohlbrook or a 100 to move ahead of him. Not impossible, but not likely given that this was the 410 event we're talking about! So, without grumbling about "what if's", Haynie was third. HOWEVER, Mr. Glen Rieske just might have grabbed third with a strong 410 event, so he settled for B1, but might have been 3rd overall if he had been able to shoot the little gun. Thanks again for the support and assistance of all who helped,
and forgive the abbreviated Skeet Report this month. NOTE:
Please note that we WILL change our SHOOT PROGRAM beginning at our next shoot,
in October, 2007. We will shoot gauges in the order 12-20-28-410, with Doubles
Saturday afternoon only. The doubles event will become a 50 target (25 pairs)
event at that time as well. This change will remain in effect until further
notice. |
