2005 Tax Prep Open Results
Just a little weather, a little rain and a lot
of wind, made the Tax Prep Open exciting, especially
Saturday.
Sunday dawned with better weather and resulted in a strong
turnout.
A total of 6500 registered targets were thrown, and 100 practice
targets added.
We had 10 four gun shooters and 8 five gun shooters. 18 shooters
registered targets in the 5 events. Thanks guys!
Markham Skeet was able to contribute $200 to the upcoming State Championships,
April 14-17, at Trail Glades Range in Miami.
Scores
reflected the challenging conditions, with a 93 winning the 20 gauge and .410
while 98 and 97 took the 12 and 28 gauge titles. The tough conditions
resulted in the HOA title going to a score of 364 (an average of 91), the lowest
such winner in recent tournaments.
"Da Champs"
Chuck Farnham won the HOA title without winning a single Gun Championship.
Zeke Walker was Runner Up and Steve Haynie was third.
Geoffery Peters recorded a personal best 98 to win the 12 gauge Gun Championship.
Glen Rieske won the long run tie breakers with two others to capture the 20
gauge. Steve Haynie broke out of a slump long enough to post a 97 in the 28
gauge and take the Gun Championship and Mark O'Mara posted a 93 to take the
.410. Zeke Walker took the HAA title with a 449 (an 89.75 average),
followed by the 448's of Steve Haynie and Jim Vahey, 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
