“THE
DUKE”
2005 verion,
at Markham Skeet
was wet, dry, windy and calm - looking back about the
same weather as last year. Our turn out was typical for
this time of year, and a near duplicate of last year,
- 13 shooters per day shot a total of 3400 targets.
Honoring the memory of John Wayne, an
American Hero, each member shooting multiple events
received an embroidered Markham Skeet, Trap and Sporting
Clays shooting towel. Steve Haynie took the HOA and HAA
titles. Geoff Peters continued his excellent shooting
with another 12 gauge Championship with a 95, besting
Chuck Farnham's 95 by long run. Mark O'Mara turned
in an excellent 98 in the 20 gauge to beat Steve
Haynie's 96. Chuck Farnham did capture the 28 gauge
title with a 96, edging out Stan Gorgacz's 94. The
.410 title was captured with an 81 (that's not a typo!)
by Steve Haynie, who explains the low scores as "weather
related". Did we mention the wind? There was a bit of
wind...as the Gun Champ in Doubles (Mark O'Mara) posted
an 89. |
